FAHIM FARIVAR is the owner and president of Farivar Law Firm, APC. His practice focuses on complex commercial law, employer defense, bankruptcy law, including creditors’ rights, civil, business, and bankruptcy litigation, out-of-court restructuring, and helping debtors achieve debt relief through chapters 7, 9, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. He has extensive experience in resolving bankruptcy, business, commercial, and financial disputes in complex cases, and have assisted entrepreneurs and investors in the sale and purchase of assets in and out of court resolution of matters.
As a certified professional accountant, Mr. Farivar brings an accountant’s depth of understanding to the financial matters facing his clients. With experience representing clients on all sides of the process, he has developed an all-inclusive understanding of commercial, business and bankruptcy law, and utilizes this understanding to represent the interests of his clients effectively and efficiently. - Represents clients in civil and commercial litigation in the bankruptcy, federal, and state courts;
- Represents employers and various businesses in complex employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage & hour matters;
- Provides regular insolvency advice to debtors, creditors, petitioning creditors, creditor committees, trustees, and equity holders;
- Represented debtors and creditors in chapter 7, 9, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases;
- Represented the Petitioning Creditors and representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in Solyman Yashouafar and Massoud Yashouafar chapter 11 bankruptcy cases field in the Central District of California;
- Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Hashfast Technologies, LLC and Hashfast LLC, chapter 11 bankruptcy cases field in the Nothern District of California involving the reorganization of a manufacture of Bitcoin mining computers and related hardware;
- Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Estyle, Inc. (Babystyle), chapter 11 bankruptcy case filed in the Central District of California
- Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Douglas Furniture of California, LLC, chapter 11 bankruptcy case filed in the Central District of California;
- Represented companies and individuals in disputes pertaining to the ownership of various assets, the representation of franchisees in disputes pertaining to the rights under the franchise agreements and the rights of partners in entities relating to franchise agreements or otherwise;
- Represented chapter 7 trustees to uncover, recover, and sell assets for the benefit of unsecured creditors through complex litigation;
- Represented landlords in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases to enforce the provisions of their leases in both asset sales and bankruptcy reorganizations; and
- Represented defendants in both large multimillion-dollar and smaller preference and fraudulent transfer actions resulting in dismissals and/or large reductions in the claims.
Individual Clients
- Represented numerous individuals and married couples to file personal/consumer bankruptcy cases resulting in a successful discharge of their debts;
- Represented individuals in the successful resolution of complex state court litigation (in which they were being sued) and debt collection matters with little financial impact, utilizing the “threat” of bankruptcy without actually having to file; and
- Successful defense, resolution, and dismissal in a large nondischargeability litigation.
Education
Mr. Farivar received his Master of Law and law degree from the UCLA School of Law. He also received his master’s degree in business taxation from USC Graduate Marshall School of Business and his bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
